Frequently Asked Questions
See all FAQIs WARDOGS free to play?
No β WARDOGS is a premium purchase: $39.99 for the Standard Edition and $49.99 for the Supporter Edition on Steam. The developer has stated there is no battle pass and no pay-to-win; cosmetics aside, everything that matters is earned with in-game cash.
When did WARDOGS come out?
WARDOGS released into Steam Early Access on September 10, 2026 for Windows PC. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are slated for 2028 per the Team17 announcement. The Early Access price is the lowest it will be β the plan is a price increase at the 1.0 launch.
What is WARDOGS?
A tactical all-out-warfare FPS from BULKHEAD (Battalion 1944) and publisher Team17. Every match drops 100 players across three teams β LONESTAR, VALKYRA and MANTICORE β into a 16Γ16 km map where they fight over one Control Zone with destructible buildings, vehicles and a persistent cash economy.
How does the cash system work in WARDOGS?
You start with $10,000 and your balance persists between matches. Every loadout is paid for per life β die and the gear is gone (there is currently no insurance). Kills, zone time, tower captures and deposits into the Control Zone all earn cash, and seasons end with a wipe that resets everyone to the starting line.
What are the best weapons in WARDOGS?
Community consensus after EA week one puts T-21, FAL, SVD and PKM in S tier. The $600 T-21 is the best overall value (28 damage, 750 RPM, full damage to 300 m); the FAL ($6,500, unlocks at Assault Level 35) is the damage king; the SVD ($4,800) leads marksmen rifles and the PKM ($4,500) owns sustained fire. The weapons comparison page has the full tier table.
What classes does WARDOGS have?
Six progression tracks: Assault (rifles, frontline), Medic (SMGs, revives, defibrillator), Recon (snipers, DMRs, enemy marking), Support (resupply, LMGs, shotguns, launchers), Engineer (vehicle repairs, building kit, anti-armor) and Driver (vehicles and transport). Each levels independently β the classes page breaks down every track.
