M4 Weapon Guide

The M4 is the Assault track's mid-price rifle at $2,800: the community shorthand is "AK74 money-plus for a faster fire rate" — a rifle that trades cash for cadence. In practice it is the ladder's middle rung between the first purchase and the Level 35 FAL capstone.

Assault players with a comfortable bank who want fire rate before the FAL unlocks, and who have already made armor standard issue — $2,800 on a rifle before $3,500 on a Level 3 armor kit is the buy order every community guide argues against. Once the kit is standard, the M4 is a legitimate tempo pick that funds its own replacement in good weeks.

A tier: excellent within role, priced with one meaningful weakness — for $600 the T-21 still covers most of the same fights. The M4 is what you buy when "most" is no longer enough and the FAL is still levels away. As with every rifle in the no-insurance economy, its real cost is measured in deaths carrying it.
